DESCRIPTION
The structure, born on the foundations of an ancient rural block of the '30s, stands on a hill overlooking the coast of South Eastern Sicily, in that mirror of water that laps the coast that from Portopalo di Capo Passero passing through the ancient village of Marzamemi and the beaches of Noto extends as far as Syracuse. Precisely because of its strategic position overlooking that inlet that the "Casuzze I Mori", as evidenced by the remains of the many bunkers visible on the road and in the vicinity of it, on 10 July 1943 it became an English outpost during the landing of the forces allies.
The "casuzze" or the stables and granaries of that farm, while retaining the charm of the rural house typical of the Sicilian countryside, where the purity of the typical countryside air mixes with a simple and elegant style, have been renovated and transformed into apartments equipped with various comforts to make their guests feel welcome and at home, becoming a unique and original place for a relaxing stay.
The attentive owners will be happy to help you organize your stay by recommending places for nightlife, beaches and historical sites to visit, as well as quality restaurants and wineries where you can taste the food and wine specialties of the area, promoting at the same time the beauty, history and the traditions of Pachino and the seaside village of Marzamemi.
WHERE WE ARE
"Casuzze I Mori", a structure inspired by the legend of the Moor's Head, a typical object linked to the Sicilian tradition, is the place to spend your stay in complete relaxation between nature, history and sea, located in a strategic point that allows you to reach in few minutes:
· The beautiful and ancient seaside village of Marzamemi with the charm of its history and the center of nightlife (3.7 km);
· The beautiful beaches of Loc. Reitani and San Lorenzo with their crystalline waters and their equipped establishments (about 4 km);
· Pachino (about 2km) with all services and its historic center.
It is also well connected and is just a few kilometers away:
· From the beautiful Vendicari reserve with its beach, the archaeological site and the nature trail;
· From the beach of Calamosche and Carratoys;
· From the Villa del Tellaro, an important archaeological site of the Roman period;
· From the city of Noto (UNESCO heritage) known as the "Bomboniera del Barocco";
· From Portopalo di Capo Passero (the southernmost point in Europe excluding the islands).
Peppe & Sandra
We are Peppe and Sandra, husband and wife, who after having dedicated our life to raising our two children, now we have decided to create something of our own where we can use our free time.
For years we have inherited the old family farm, a place full of memories but a little neglected, which, one evening looking at the panorama that surrounds it, we decided to give it a second life, creating a place to host those who want to visit the our territory rich in history, culture and traditions.
Hence the decision to renovate that old building, transforming what were once stables and granaries "the casuzze" into two apartments, which although completely renovated and equipped with every comfort, continue to maintain, by our choice, the simple style of the typical country house of the peasant tradition, creating a perfect combination of simplicity and elegance.
