There is a hill, in the heart of the Sicilian countryside, where the wind smells of the sea and the days pass slowly, between golden light and full silences. It is here that “Casuzze I Mori Museum” was born, from the foundations of an old farmhouse from the 1930s, a place that for decades has preserved work, life, and rural memory.
The two small casuzze, once stables and barns, now breathe new life. They have been carefully restored, leaving intact the rustic soul made of stone, wood, and tradition, but enriched with modern comforts to welcome those seeking a serene, elegant, and authentic stay. A simple yet refined balance, where nature enters through the windows and blends with the warm colors of the interiors.
In the old chicken coop, however, we wanted to preserve something even more precious: a fragment of history. From here a small rural museum was born, “the link between past and present,” where tools, utensils, and everyday objects tell the story of the work, toil, and dignity of Sicilian farming families. These are pieces found during the renovation, each with a memory, a sound, a gesture.
Staying in our casuzze means entering a different rhythm: breathing clean air, listening to the silence of the countryside, gazing towards the coast from Portopalo to Syracuse, letting yourself be enveloped by the simplicity and scents of our land. It is not just a simple stay: it is an experience that speaks of Sicily, of traditions, of roots, and of beauty.

Peppe, soul of the countryside and guardian of rural memory, has collected over the years the objects that now form our rural museum. Every stone, every tool and every corner of the casuzze tells a story he chose to preserve and share with our guests.
