Where Sicily tells its secrets

Why are they called "Casuzze I Mori Museum"?

The story of the name has its roots in the ancient rural houses made of white stone, nestled between the sea and countryside, and in the tales handed down about the Arab presence in the area. The "casuzze" were shelters for farmers and animals, places of work and protection.

During the twentieth century, the area also acquired a strategic role in military history, becoming a key vantage point during landings.

Mysteries of the Calafarina Cave

Just a few minutes from your accommodation is one of the most legend-filled caves in southeastern Sicily. There is talk of a treasure hidden by the emir before his escape, guarded for centuries by the sea and the silence of the cliff.

Torre Xibini: the sentinel of the coast

Torre Xibini is one of the ancient Sicilian coastal towers, built as a lookout system against Saracen raids. Located in a dominant position, it controlled the entire stretch of sea between Marzamemi and Portopalo.

Even today it represents one of the most authentic symbols of the Iblean landscape, immersed among vineyards, sirocco winds, and golden light.
